1. Agreement
These Terms of Use ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you
and the developer of the MyBBQ iOS app ("MyBBQ", "we", "us"). By
creating an account, installing, or using MyBBQ, you agree to
these Terms, our
Privacy Policy,
and our
Content & Community Guidelines. You also agree to Apple's standard End User License Agreement
(EULA) for App Store apps, available at
apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula .
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old and able to form a binding
contract under applicable law to use MyBBQ. If you are between 13
and the age of majority in your jurisdiction, your parent or legal
guardian must agree to these Terms on your behalf. MyBBQ is
delivered through the Apple App Store and requires a valid Apple
ID.
3. Your Account
You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you
provide and for keeping your password and Apple ID secure. You
agree to notify us promptly at
support@mybbqapp.com
if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.
Display names, first and last names, and other text you enter must
follow our
Content & Community Guidelines
(no profanity bypass, impersonation, or abusive content). We may
reject or change names that violate these rules.
4. License to Use the App
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable
license to install and use MyBBQ on Apple devices you own or
control, for personal, non-commercial use. You may not:
-
Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app, except to
the extent applicable law expressly permits.
-
Copy, modify, or create derivative works of the app or its
content.
-
Resell, sublicense, or redistribute access to the app or any
premium features.
-
Use the app to build a competing service or to scrape MyBBQ
content.
-
Bypass, interfere with, or stress-test our security, rate
limits, or moderation systems.
All right, title, and interest in MyBBQ remain ours. These Terms
do not grant you any rights in our trademarks, logos, or other
branding.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree to follow our
Content & Community Guidelines, which describe in detail what content is allowed and what is
not. In short, do not post content that is sexually explicit,
hateful, harassing, illegal, misleading, or unrelated to BBQ and
cooking, and do not impersonate other people or brands.
We may remove content, restrict features, suspend, or terminate
accounts that violate these standards. Repeat or severe violations
may result in immediate account closure without prior warning.
6. User Content and Sharing
You retain ownership of the cooks, recipes, photos, notes, and
other content you create in MyBBQ ("User Content").
When you choose to share content publicly (for example, by sharing
a cook to the Shared Cooks feed or by setting a public profile
photo), you grant MyBBQ a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free
license to host, store, display, reproduce, and distribute that
content within the MyBBQ app and on mybbqapp.com for the purpose
of operating the service. This license ends when you remove the
content from public surfaces (for example, by unsharing a cook or
changing your profile photo) or when you delete your account,
except for backup copies that may persist for a short operational
window.
You represent that you own or have the rights to all User Content
you upload, and that your content does not violate any third-party
rights or applicable law.
7. Subscriptions, Free Trials, and Cancellation
What's offered
MyBBQ offers an auto-renewable "MyBBQ Premium" subscription,
currently available as a monthly plan at $3.99 per month and an
annual plan at $34.99 per year. Both plans include a 7-day free
trial for new subscribers. Pricing in your local currency is shown
in the app at the time of purchase and may vary by country.
How billing works
All subscription billing is handled by Apple through your Apple
ID. Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each period
unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current
period. The renewal charge is applied within 24 hours of the
period ending.
Free trial
If you start a 7-day free trial and do not cancel before the trial
ends, your subscription will automatically convert to a paid
subscription at the displayed price. Apple may limit who is
eligible for free trials based on your previous subscription
history.
Manage and cancel
You can view, change, pause, or cancel your subscription at any
time in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on your iOS device.
Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period;
you keep premium features until then. Uninstalling the app does
not cancel a subscription.
Refunds
Apple processes all refund requests for App Store subscriptions.
To request a refund, visit
reportaproblem.apple.com. We do not have access to your payment instrument and cannot
issue refunds directly.
Price changes
We may change subscription pricing or terms in the future. Apple
will notify you of any price increase that requires your consent
before the increase takes effect.
8. Third-Party Services
MyBBQ relies on Apple, Supabase, RevenueCat, SightEngine, and
Resend to run. See our
Privacy Policy
for details on what each service handles. Your use of MyBBQ is
subject to those providers' own terms when they apply.
9. Termination
You may stop using MyBBQ at any time and delete your account by
emailing
support@mybbqapp.com.
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these
Terms or our
Content & Community Guidelines, if required by law, or if continued service creates a risk to
other users or the platform. We may also discontinue the service
entirely with reasonable notice. On termination, your license to
use MyBBQ ends immediately and any remaining unused portion of a
paid subscription is governed by Apple's refund and subscription
policies.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
MyBBQ is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties
of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of
merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or
non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be
uninterrupted, error-free, secure against every threat, or that
content moderation will be perfect.
MyBBQ is not a food safety, medical, or food handling authority.
You are responsible for safe cooking practices, proper meat
handling, allergen awareness, and any decisions you make based on
what you read in MyBBQ or in user-shared content.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event will MyBBQ,
its developer, or its third-party providers be liable to you for
any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or
punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other
intangible losses, arising out of or relating to your use of
MyBBQ.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or
relating to MyBBQ will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount
you paid for MyBBQ in the twelve months immediately before the
event giving rise to the claim, or (b) twenty-five US dollars
($25). Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations, so they
may not apply to you in full.
12. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless MyBBQ and its
developer from any claims, damages, costs, or expenses (including
reasonable attorney fees) arising out of (a) content you submit,
(b) your use of the app in violation of these Terms, or (c) your
violation of any law or third-party right.
13. Apple-Specific Terms
You acknowledge that these Terms are between you and us, not
Apple, and that Apple is not responsible for the app or its
content. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support
for MyBBQ. To the extent allowed by law, Apple is not responsible
for product liability claims, third-party intellectual property
infringement claims, consumer protection claims, or other claims
relating to MyBBQ. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party
beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
14. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United
States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute
arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of MyBBQ
will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Wise
County, Texas, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those
courts. Nothing in these Terms prevents either party from seeking
injunctive relief in any court of competent jurisdiction.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms as MyBBQ changes. When we make material
updates, we will revise the Effective Date at the top of this
page. Continued use of the app after changes are posted means you
accept the updated Terms.
